Alison Doody
Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actress. She made her debut in a feature film with a small part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she went on to portray the Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Approached by a photographer Doody began to model that eventually led to an industry-related career in modelling. Doody was averse to glamour and nude work. This was a principle she carried over to her acting. Once she caught the attention of the casting director for the upcoming James Bond movie, she participated in A View to a Kill in the role of Jenny Flex. Doody was named as one the top twelve promising actors of the year in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody had just turned 18 years old when she took on the role of Bond girl. Doody is the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying with Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody appeared as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 television version of The Secret Garden. She played Lilias. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody portrayed Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She starred alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking probably her most high-profile part in her career in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser as well as archaeologist The Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody was later a guest on the medical drama of RTE The Clinic and was set to be the lead actress in a remake of the horror film The Asphyx but the project was later put on hold. Pam Jefferson was her character in the E4 comedy Beaver Falls for two seasons. She was a part of We Still Kill the Old Way in 2014, a documentary.
